Hey, I have recently read that Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron are also part-German. Is that true?

  2. Ellen Says:

I just read in the magazine “German“ that Angelina Jolie’s ancestors might be German as well.
The article says that her alleged great-grandfather, whose name was Josef Kamp (born in Bueren, Westphalia), emigrated from Hamburg via Ellis Island on the “Columbia” in 1893. His name was again found in 1900 on a US census list in Yonkers, New York. He and his wife had five kids, the youngest one, Barbara, apparently married Elmer Voight who had ancestors in the Sudetenland.
Barbara and Elmer Voight had three kids Barry, James and Jonathan an actor who calls himself Jon. Jon Voight, known as Angelina Jolie’s father, was born in Yonkers, NY.

This is really amazing I think! So far neither Angelina’s family nor her agency William Morris in Beverly Hills have confirmed on the findings though.

Did you know that Eric Braeden, who played the tycoon Victor Newman on “The Young and the ruthless” received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, July 20, 2007?!

  5. Ted Says:

What about Ernst Lubitsch - the great Hollywood Director. Wasn’t he German?

  6. Liane Says:

I was wondering if anyone had any information about German missionaries being sent to China (Shandong mission) between 1910 and 1920 from the U.S.?

Great stuff here. There are no women in the science&technology part of famous German-Americans section. Off the top of my head I think of Maria Goeppert-Mayer, nobel laureate in physics (1963). I’m sure Wikipedia will also reveal more in this category…
